Click Join Game to open the Server Browser. Unlike the Steam version, you don't use "Matchmaking." You pick a dedicated server with a low ping.

The client will open a command prompt window to download necessary data files (maps, sounds, localized files). This may take some time depending on your internet speed.

This means your iw4x.exe isn't in the same folder as your MW2 game files. Ensure the .exe is in the main directory.
