The ministry has systematically abolished major primary-level standardized exams (like the UPSR) and lower secondary exams (PT3) to move away from an exam-centric culture. The focus has shifted to School-Based Assessment (PBD) to evaluate critical thinking, teamwork, and creativity rather than rote memorization.

The school day pauses for Friday prayers. Muslim students walk to the nearby mosque in neat lines. Non-Muslims often stay in the library or eat lunch. During Ramadan, non-Muslim students are quietly asked to eat away from Muslim students observing the fast. Mooncake festivals, Deepavali, and Chinese New Year are celebrated with open houses and cultural performances.

The school canteen is a melting pot of Malaysian flavors, serving everything from Nasi Lemak Mee Goreng , reflecting the country's diverse culinary heritage. National Identity:

School usually begins with a weekly or daily assembly where students sing the national anthem ("Negaraku") and recite the national philosophy ( Rukun Negara ).

Secondary education spans five years, divided into Lower Secondary (Form 1 to 3) and Upper Secondary (Form 4 and 5).
