"Alita: Battle Angel" is a 2019 science fiction action film directed by Robert Rodriguez and written by Rodriguez and Teressa Liane. The movie is based on the 1993 manga series "Gunnm" (also known as "Battle Angel Alita") by Yukito Kishiro.

The story is set in the gritty, sprawling Iron City, which exists in the shadow of Zalem, a mysterious, utopian city floating in the sky.
