To bridge the cultural gap, the production hired veteran Hong Kong action choreographer Dee Dee (Ku Huen-chiu), known for his work on Kill Bill and The Matrix . This collaboration resulted in action sequences that blended Bollywood's larger-than-life style with authentic, wire-work-heavy Chinese kung fu. Music and Soundtrack

The veteran star appears as a blind kung fu master living in the sewers. His performance is pure camp gold, teaching Sidhu the "Fist of the North Star" technique.

However, over time, the film has been re-evaluated. Modern viewers see it as a —a film so ambitious that it crashes spectacularly, but in doing so, becomes entertaining. In the age of predictable Bollywood sequels, the sheer weirdness of Chandni Chowk To China is refreshing.

It allowed Akshay to showcase his martial arts skills on a grand, international scale.

At its core, the film tells the story of Sidhu (Akshay Kumar), a simple, hapless vegetable cutter from the dusty lanes of Old Delhi’s Chandni Chowk. Languishing in mediocrity and longing for destiny, he is mistaken for the reincarnation of a legendary Chinese warrior named Liu Shen. Whisked away to an exotic, mystical version of China, Sidhu must learn kung fu to defeat the evil gangster Hojo (also played by Kumar) and free a village of oppressed miners.

His life takes a dramatic turn when two Chinese strangers arrive in Delhi. They mistake Sidhu for the reincarnation of Liu Shengh, a legendary Chinese warrior who once defended their oppressed village. Drawn by the promise of wealth and destiny, Sidhu travels to China alongside Chopstick (Ranvir Shorey), a deceitful conman posing as a translator.
