In a sweeping move to regulate digital content, the Indian Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) ordered the blocking of 25 OTT platforms for allegedly publishing obscene, vulgar, and, in some cases, pornographic material. This crackdown was conducted under the provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.
