BoJack Horseman, the washed-up star of the 90s sitcom Horsin' Around, is living in a haze of booze and self-loathing in his Hollywood hills mansion. The first episode of the first season, titled "BoJack Horseman: The BoJack Horseman Story, Chapter One," introduces us to a world where anthropomorphic animals and humans coexist, but the struggles are all too human. BoJack is desperate to make a comeback, and his agent and ex-girlfriend, Princess Carolyn, convinces him to write a memoir. However, BoJack's debilitating procrastination and fear of failure lead him to hire a ghostwriter, Diane Nguyen.
