Although Patch 1.21 was released back in 2017, it continues to be the gold standard for TDU modding. The modder Milli suggested that while no more cars will be added to Platinum to keep the database stable, the mod contains for users to add their own custom cars. Sub-mods, such as "Vintage Platinum" (which rebalances the game to feature only classic cars from the 1980s), have since been developed specifically for the 1.21 version, showing the longevity of this platform.
A known issue in some installations is that the in-game radio may stop working after applying multiple updates.
