The plot of From Paris with Love follows the unlikely and volatile partnership between James Reese (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) and Charlie Wax (John Travolta). Reese is a young, ambitious aide at the U.S. Embassy in Paris who dreams of becoming a full-fledged CIA agent. He leads a somewhat posh and by-the-books life, complete with a high-end apartment and a beautiful French girlfriend, Caroline (Kasia Smutniak).
