Yukimi is not Shiki’s biological mother. She is the second wife of Makihisa Tohno, Akiha’s father and Shiki’s adoptive father. Her exact origins are left ambiguous—typical of Tsukihime ’s more mysterious characters—but it’s implied she came from a branch family or was brought in as a caretaker before becoming Makihisa’s wife.
