The story starts with Smaug's fiery attack on Lake-town. Bard the Bowman defeats Smaug. The dwarves reclaim the Lonely Mountain. Thorin Oakenshield becomes obsessed with treasure and the Arkenstone. Bilbo secretly hides the Arkenstone to prevent further madness. Greed causes conflict with the Elves of Mirkwood and the people of Lake-town, who want their share of the gold. Massive Orc armies, led by Azog the Defiler, threaten the mountain. This forces the races to unite in a final battle. Extended Edition Additions
